I started this journey with a "30 Days to Healthy Living" challenge and haven't stopped since. I'm about to embark on another 30 day challenge. This time, it's an actual contest. We the people have been challenged by our mayor and the city itself to come together as a community and support one another in a weight loss challenge. I am super excited to participate and hope to take home some prizes at the end of this thing.
I am a little nervous because I've been at this a while and we all know that those just starting out, if they have excess weight to lose, might lose more generously in the beginning of their journey. The competitive me is a little bummed by this, BUT... I'm excited for all those that might find their way to healthier living through this challenge. Seriously though, why couldn't this contest have happened 7 months ago. :p
Fortunately there are all sorts of people, body types, levels of fitness, etc. entered. The entire community is invited to participate. I even have some completely fit friends that really don't have any weight to lose at all participating. It's going to be so much fun. I think I am officially a health junkie because I am ridiculously excited.
My weight loss has slowed a little but it still pretty darn consistent. I have lost 13 pounds in the last (7th of my journey) month. I might tweak things a little nutrition and exercise routine wise and see if can't bump that up a little. Don't worry. I'll keep it healthy. I was chatting with a friend yesterday that was sharing a story about his friend that lost A LOT of weight in the last two years. I said, "If it takes me two years to take it all off, I'm absolutely ok with that. It took me 44 years to make this mess."
If I don't win or place in this challenge, I'm ok with that. As long as I keep kickin' my own ass!
