I think I'll try to make this a regular occurring post each month. Just a quick and easy entry to show you some progress and share how things are shaping up.
This journey has been amazing for my husband, Alan, as well. He is currently under 200 pounds which is smaller than he's been since he was a teen in high school.
The picture on the left was taken just a few days ago while the picture on the right is a good representation of his average over the last 10 years. Not his biggest, but about his norm. Like he said, "I've always just looked in the mirror and thought, it's not that bad." He carried his extra weight pretty "friendly" and mostly in his upper body so he just looked like a bigger, broader guy.
Perhaps the differences are even more noticeable in the following close up. While his body is definitely leaner, you can really see the difference in his cheeks, jowls, and neck. He's replaced the majority of his wardrobe. His 42 inch waist is now a 34. His 2x shirts are now a large. He even downsized his underpants.
This picture was probably his max (about 265 pounds) and we were both pretty crushed when we saw ourselves in this image. He can hardly get his arm around me and I can barely get my arms around myself. We were miserable. EVEN OUR HANDS WERE FAT!
I am so glad that we have taken control and are redesigning our bodies and future. I am so glad that we are not THOSE people anymore. I am so grateful to him for all his hard work so I can spend all my time improving my health/body/lifestyle...which in turn improves his as well.
