I can't believe it's May already! It seems like it was just Day 1 of the initial 30 Day Challenge that got me started on my new, healthy lifestyle. May is the last full month as I approach the one year anniversary of the new and improved me. I started this journey on June 5, 2017 and want to wrap up the first year with a bang. I have committed to "going HAM" for the month of May. What better way to do that than with a new challenge from BodyBuilding.com?!
They describe the new Access Your Potential Challenge like this:
"The next 31 days are going to be anything but boring! Our favorite workouts have been organized into a cohesive split that will work your entire body. We’ve also thrown in a couple of power days to push your limits, and the rest day has a challenge of its own!"
In an effort to blog more consistently and to help those of you following along understand in more detail how I'm living these days, I will post a sort of daily diary entry.
This was today's workout:
I have to admit, I was a little intimidated at first. Lifting tends to set my lymph system off and I have found myself backing away from it more and more. I am going to power through this challenge and accept the swelling as it comes...if it happens. We'll see how it goes.
My morning at the gym: Aquafit, swam laps, walked, yoga, first 4 exercises.
Round 2 afternoon at the gym: Walked, remainder of exercises, rode 1 mile.
I am comfortably sore and feel great about the work I put in today. It's almost midnight so I need to get to bed but I'll leave more time for tomorrow's entry. (Hopefully.)
