First things first...it's our wedding anniversary. Alan and I were married on 10.10.10. What a couple of binary nerds we are. Well, him more than me of course.
It was an amazing day but....DAYUMMMMM, I was huge and this wasn't even my max. I'll have to get my dress out of the closet when I get back from Bali and see how it fits. Or rather, how it doesn't. I am so grateful for Alan and the beautiful life he has provided for us all. Here's to many more years of our amazing partnership.
I mentioned in my Brachioplasty Story (Part 3) post that, "Though I was struggling, I did manage to put some of the time to good use. There is some REALLY GOOD NEWS associated with that, but that's it's own blog post once I get this story caught up."
What is ISSA you ask? What is a CFT? Well, I'm a CFT...CERTIFIED FITNESS TRAINER!
"The International Sports Sciences Association is an organization that operates as a teaching institution and certification agency for fitness trainers, aerobic instructors, and medical professionals."
When I get back, I'll write a little more about this and share some of my content and essay answers. Their comments were incredible. I was so nervous submitting my test fearing I wouldn't be good enough. Our brains really do try to convince us of some horrible lies from time to time. DO NOT LISTEN!
It's currently 3:30 pm and I leave for the airport at 5 pm. I am excited, nervous, and all sorts of other incredible and scary emotions. DEEP BREATHS! Radical self reliance for a full month. I CAN DO IT. I CAN DO HARD THINGS!
As a reminder, this is where I'm going and what I'll be doing...
My surgical recovery has been harder and longer than expected. It's been a little scary not knowing whether or not my arms were going to be ready. Over the last week there have been huge strides in my recovery. The hole is officially closed. My range of motion is improving. I completed an entire yin yoga class the other night without any complications and that felt fabulous.
It definitely looks better:
Training doesn't start until Monday the 15th so I have a few more days of good healing time ahead of me. I will be sure to blog and share when I get back. I'll have WIFI while I'm there so I'll be able to post some quick updates now and then.
I'm off to see some monkeys and learn to teach some yoga.
